China Agrees to Take Back Its Citizens Living Illegally in America

The Chinese government said on Monday that it is ready to bring back its citizens pointed out from America. It is worth noting that US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose tariffs and sanctions on some countries if they do not take back those living there illegally. In recent months, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has sent hundreds of Chinese citizens back to China in five charter flights.

The US has described them as illegal residents. The department has warned Chinese officials of serious consequences, including visa restrictions, if they refuse to accept thousands of Chinese citizens in the US under deportation orders.

In this regard, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said in a conversation with the media in Beijing, “We are cooperating with the immigration and law enforcement departments of the US and other countries. China is ready to take back those citizens after they are confirmed as Chinese citizens from the Chinese mainland after verification.” Trump had declared illegal immigration a national emergency on the very first day of assuming the presidency last week.
