Jammu and Kashmir – There is a lot of ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today. There was a scuffle in the House over Article 370. After the ruckus, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the Assembly for some time. After which the Speaker said that those who came to the well should be taken out. Marshals took some BJP MLAs out of the Assembly.
In the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, brother of Lok Sabha MP from Baramulla Engineer Rashid and MLA from Langate Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh showed banners on Article 370. Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma objected to this. Seeing the banner, the BJP MLAs got angry and snatched that poster from his hand. BJP MLAs took the poster from Sheikh Khurshid’s hand and tore it. During this, a scuffle started and there was a lot of ruckus.
After the ruckus and scuffle in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, the proceedings of the House were adjourned for 15 minutes. Even after the House was adjourned, the BJP members continued their protest. The BJP raised its voice on security that how such things are allowed. Marshals took out some opposition MLAs who were creating ruckus in the House.
The PDP presented a resolution in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly demanding the restoration of Article 370 and 35A. Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma said that they built their own palaces and dug graveyards under the special status. NC leaders got angry at this. The BJP started sloganeering in the House. On the other hand, NC leaders also raised slogans in the House.
Engineer Rashid’s brother and Awami Ittehad Party MLA Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh (who displayed a banner on Article 370 in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today) said, ‘This is completely legal. We wanted to bring a resolution on Article 370, but we were not given a chance. So, what other option did we have? The banner talked about Article 370 and Article 35A, which we condemn. But the BJP did not like it. Even if they continue to attack us, we will continue to raise our voice.’
BJP President Ravinder Raina said, ‘The Congress and National Conference government has tried and conspired to revive the agenda of terrorists and separatists in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has nothing to do with Article 370. The way the Congress-National Conference government has surreptitiously brought the Article 370 proposal in the Assembly is illegal, unconstitutional. This is a betrayal of the country. BJP will never allow this agenda to be implemented.’
Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary said, ‘We are the people who want to strengthen Bharat Mata. We have talked about the interests of the people, industries, tourism, education etc. People are seeing that what Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and Surinder Kumar Choudhary are saying is in their interest.’
BJP leader Kavinder Gupta said on the ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly session, ‘National Conference and Kashmir parties want to spoil the atmosphere of Jammu and Kashmir. The way the speaker is working as an agent of the National Conference has spoiled the atmosphere. The way they displayed hooliganism today by expelling BJP MLAs by the marshals is intolerable. The government itself wants the atmosphere to be spoiled there. Neither will any special status be given nor will anything be given, this has become history.
