Samsung has unveiled its next-generation portable projector, the Freestyle+, ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, positioning it as a pocket-sized cinema solution powered by advanced artificial intelligence.
The global launch comes days before CES 2026 begins on January 6, with Samsung showcasing the Freestyle+ as a smarter, brighter, and more intuitive upgrade to its popular Freestyle projector. Designed for everyday use, the device automatically turns on when pointed toward a surface, eliminating the need for manual setup.
The standout feature of the Freestyle+ is AI OptiScreen, an AI-driven technology that automatically adjusts the projected image based on the surface and environment. Users simply aim the projector at a wall, ceiling, or even the floor, and the image is instantly optimized.
AI OptiScreen includes 3D Auto Keystone, which corrects distorted images on uneven or angled surfaces, and Real-Time Focus, ensuring sharp visuals even when the projector is moved. The Screen Fit feature automatically resizes the image to match the available projection area, while Wall Calibration analyzes wall color and texture to enhance picture quality.
Samsung has also integrated its Vision AI Companion, combining an upgraded Bixby with global AI partner services to enable more natural voice interactions and smart content discovery directly from the screen.
In terms of hardware, the Freestyle+ delivers 430 ISO lumens of brightness, nearly double that of the previous model. Its lightweight, compact design and 180-degree rotating form factor allow projection on walls, ceilings, or floors without requiring additional mounts.
The projector functions as a complete entertainment hub, removing the need for external devices. It comes with Samsung TV Plus, access to popular streaming platforms, and the Samsung Gaming Hub. Audio is handled by built-in 360-degree speakers, designed to fill an entire room with immersive sound.
Samsung plans to showcase the Freestyle+ at CES 2026 and launch it globally in the first half of 2026, between January and June.
