Center sanctioned Rs. 4345 crore for national highway-7

A sum of Rs. 4345 crore was sanctioned to convert 287.36 kilometer long stretch of national highway-7 from two-lane to high-quality 4-lane road in Madhya Pradesh by a meeting of cabinet committee on economic affairs (CCEA) chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi the other day.

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for this. He said that the amount sanctioned by the committee headed by the Prime Minister will go a long way in improvement of infrastructure, specially development and construction of roads in Madhya Pradesh. He said that this decision shows development-oriented approach of Central Government. Shri Chouhan has hoped that state’s proposals will also be given sanction like this in future.

In the first package of the project, Rs. 1032 crore has been sanctioned for constructing 69.19 km long 4-lane road between Rewa-Katni-Jabalpur, in the second package Rs. 1034 crore for 69.07 km long road between Rewa-Katni-Jabalpur and in the fourth package Rs. 1035 crore for 68.28 km long road between Rewa-Katni-Jabalpur. Besides, Rs. 1244 crore has been sanctioned for converting 80.82 km long stretch on Jabalpur-Lakhnadon section of national highway-7.
