Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, inaugurated its 28th world-class Audi showroom in India, driving into Karnal in the state of Haryana. The entire Audi model range in India will be available at Audi Karnal – the largest luxury car showroom in Karnal. The showroom was inaugurated by Mr. Joe King, Head, Audi India and Mr. Pawan Gupta, Managing Director, Audi Karnal (Kanish Motors Pvt. Ltd.). “The inauguration of Audi Karnal strengthens our presence in one of the prime emerging markets for luxury cars in India and presents us with the opportunity to benefit from the growing demand for luxury cars in this region. We are already leaders in the luxury car market in the North and see a huge potential for growth in Karnal and Haryana. We are happy to have found the right partner in Kanish Motors Pvt. Road (NH1), gateway to 4 states of North India, (Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal), Audi Karnal is spread over a total area of 66000 sq. ft. With the signature Audi honeycomb aluminum façade on the exterior, and a display area that can accommodate 11 cars, Audi Karnal will display the entire range of Audi cars available in India. Audi Karnal will also house an Audi Shop and the Audi Exclusive elements, where customers can order customized products and purchase a variety of Audi branded merchandise. “We are extremely proud to be associated with Audi in India. Audi Karnal will also manage the exclusive Audi service facility, located in the same premises. This facility is spread over an area of 10000 sq ft. and has a capacity to service 12 cars per day in a single shift on a total of 8 bays. The technicians at the facility are trained to ensure world-class services to the customers. The brand with the four rings registered a sale of 7391 vehicles in January – September 2013 period, a growth of 15 percent (January – September 2012: 6417 cars). The company also clocked growth of 5 percent in third quarter (July – September 2013) with a total sale of 2545 vehicles (July – September 2012: 2417 cars). “After consolidating our No. 1 position in the luxury car market, we now aim to be the first luxury car manufacturer to cross 10000 units in a calendar year in India. With improving infrastructure and increasing aspiration levels among our potential customer base, we believe that the demand for luxury cars will only grow exponentially in Haryana,” added Mr. King. Audi India plans to expand its network to 34 dealerships by the end of 2013 from its existing 28 centers. The company opened new showrooms in Mumbai South, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar and Delhi Central earlier this year. Last year also saw the opening of world-class Audi showrooms in Raipur, Kanpur, Goa, Navi Mumbai, Coimbatore, Delhi West, Nagpur and Bhopal. Further developments include Visakhapatnam, Noida and Vadodara among others.
