New Delhi — : The ” Ashadh month ”  has started, and it’s packed with some of the most sacred fasts and festivals in Hinduism. This year, Ashadh began on June 12 and will end on July 10. Devotees of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Maa Lakshmi, and Surya Dev perform special pujas during this month to seek divine blessings. The spiritual power of Ashadh becomes even stronger in 2025 because many big planets will also change their positions this month.


Why Ashadh Month Is So Important in 2025

Ashadh is the fourth month in the Hindu calendar and holds deep importance in Sanatan Dharma. During this time, people observe many holy fasts and festivals with devotion. Performing rituals and prayers for Lord Vishnu and Lord Shankar is believed to remove all types of troubles from life.

The weather also begins to shift during Ashadh, bringing both spiritual and seasonal changes. This is the month when the famous Jagannath Rath Yatra takes place in Puri, Odisha. Also, Guru Purnima, the festival dedicated to spiritual teachers, falls during this sacred period.

June 14 – Sankashti Ganesh Chaturthi

A special day for praying to Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles and bring success.

June 15 – Mithun Sankranti

Marks the Sun’s entry into Gemini (Mithun Rashi). It is an auspicious time for charity and rituals.

June 21 – Yogini Ekadashi

A very powerful fast to seek forgiveness for past sins and to get peace of mind.

June 23 – Pradosh Vrat

Devotees worship Lord Shiva during twilight hours for good health and happiness.

June 24 – Rohini Vrat

A sacred fast especially observed by Jain devotees for peace, harmony, and long life.

June 25 – Ashadha Amavasya

A dark moon night ideal for ancestral puja (Pitra Tarpan) and spiritual cleansing.

June 26 – Gupt Navratri Begins + Chandra Darshan

Start of the secret Navratri dedicated to the nine forms of Goddess Durga, and also the first sighting of the moon after Amavasya.

June 27 – Jagannath Rath Yatra

The grand chariot festival of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra begins in Puri, watched by millions across the world.

July 6 – Devshayani Ekadashi

An important Ekadashi when Lord Vishnu goes into yogic sleep (Yoga Nidra). Chaturmas begins from this day.

July 8 – Bhaum Pradosh Vrat and Jaya Parvati Vrat

Double significance — a Tuesday Pradosh Vrat and a special fast for marital happiness.

July 10 – Guru Purnima, Vyas Puja, Satya Vrat

The day to honor and thank our gurus and spiritual teachers. Also observed as Vyas Puja in memory of sage Ved Vyasa.
