New Delhi : The deadline for submitting applications (both fresh and renewal) for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for the year 2024-25 has been extended to September 30, 2024. Students can submit their applications through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), which has been open for submissions since June 30, 2024.
Here’s a brief overview of the process:
- One Time Registration (OTR): Students must first complete a One Time Registration (OTR) on the NSP before applying for the scholarship scheme.
- Application Submission: After completing the OTR, students should apply for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) via the NSP.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Income Limit: Parental income should not exceed Rs. 3.50 lakh per annum.
- Academic Performance: Minimum of 55% marks or equivalent in Class VII for the scholarship selection test (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST students).
- Verification Process:
- Level-1 (L1): Verification at the Institute Nodal Officer (INO) level must be completed by October 15, 2024.
- Level-2 (L2): Verification at the District Nodal Officer (DNO) level is required by October 31, 2024.
- Scholarship Amount: Rs. 12,000 per annum per student.
- Scholarship Disbursement: Scholarships are transferred directly to students’ bank accounts via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) using the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
