Legendary cricketer Anil Kumble joined hands with Amitabh Shah’s Yuva Unstoppable to promote the Unstoppable Police Project focused on providing safety kits to the police personnel. In a symbolic gesture, former Indian cricketer, captain, coach, and commentator and Padma Shri awardee, Anil Kumble hands over these kits to Mr Bhaskar Rao, Commissioner of Police, Bangalore.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, police personnel remain vulnerably exposed to the disease. They have been patrolling containment zones, managing thousands of migrants and much more. Moreover, as some parts of the country wake up to heavy rains and cyclonic winds off late, it seems to have added to the duties of police personnel.
“I am very thankful to the police, to CP, Bangalore for taking care of the city, of Karnataka. They are doing an excellent job for which citizens like me are indebted to them. Under Yuva Unstoppable’s police project, we have given these kits for the police force, which will take care of their basic hygiene needs. The work done by Yuva Unstoppable is real and rooted, and I would like to congratulate them for it”, shared Anil Kumble from CP office, Bangalore.
“I welcome Anil Kumble to our office. He brought with him hygiene kits for our frontline warriors and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful gesture”, expressed Mr Bhaskar Rao. He also mentioned that these are one of the most challenging times that we are facing since last couple of months. He urged that the only way to stay safe in these times is by staying indoors. “This is a phase, it too shall pass; be patient, maintain social distance, drink lots of warm water and avoid traveling as much as possible”, he further added.
“We are going through some really tough times as a country. First, the global pandemic and now natural disasters like cyclone Amphan. It is incredible though to see how our frontline warriors – the police personnel are constantly battling all odds to protect us. Amidst such circumstances, we are so proud to have once again received the support of legendary Anil Kumble towards empowering these heroes. I am deeply grateful to him. I would also like to extend my gratitude to CP office, Bangalore for their whole-hearted support and cooperation”, said Amitabh Shah, founder and Chief Inspiration Officer, Yuva Unstoppable.
Anil Kumble has supported Yuva Unstoppable’s cause and initiatives in the past as well. About 5 years back, he visited Ahmedabad city, Gujarat and inaugurated one of the government schools reformed by the non-profit under its flagship school transformation program.
The hygiene kits provided by Yuva Unstoppable to the police consist of basic hygiene equipment like masks, sanitizers, handwash, and a special ‘thank you’ note for acknowledging the courage and work of the police force, and the spirit of their family members.Yuva Unstoppable was one of the first responders to the ongoing crisis. Till date, they have distributed 50,000+ health and hygiene kits to police, food and ration to 100,000+ and 5000+ PPE kits to doctors and paramedical staff across India to cope with the extra-ordinary pandemic.
