New Delhi – The American weapon manufacturing company Sig Sauer will manufacture weapons in India. For this, it has signed an agreement with Pune-based Nibe Group. Earlier, American company Sig Sauer has signed a contract of 1.45 lakh assault rifles with the Indian Army. In this, 72500 Sig 716 assault rifles have been supplied. The company will give 73 thousand more rifles to the army by 2025. On Wednesday, CDS Anil Chauhan visited Nibe Industries in Pune and reviewed the capabilities of small-medium enterprises in the defense sector.
Announcing the partnership with the Nibe Group, the CEO and President of the American company Ron Cohen said that India is its largest procurement source globally. He said that by 2025 the company plans to manufacture a complete product in India.
This also includes the Ministry of Defense (MOD) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). On Wednesday in Pune, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan explained the specialty of the Agneepath scheme. He said that this scheme is a great opportunity for the youth to join and serve in the armed forces. He said that important reforms and changes are taking place in the armed forces.
