
The Amarnath Yatra is one of the most revered pilgrimages in Hinduism, attracting devotees from across the globe to the sacred Amarnath Cave Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. Managed by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), this annual journey offers devotees the chance to witness the naturally formed ice Shivling, symbolizing Lord Shiva. For 2025, the SASB has announced that the Yatra will commence on July 3 and conclude on August 9, 2025 spanning a total of 39 days.
Key Highlights of Amarnath Yatra 2025:
- Duration: 39 days, from July 3 to August 9, 2025.
- Routes: Pilgrims can choose between the Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the Baltal route in Ganderbal district.
- Registration: Both online and offline registration processes will be available, with dates to be announced soon.
- Health Requirements: A Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) is mandatory for all pilgrims.
- Age Restrictions: Individuals below 13 years and above 70 years are not permitted. Additionally, pregnant women beyond 6 weeks are advised against undertaking the Yatra.
Registration Process:
To ensure a smooth pilgrimage, the SASB has outlined a detailed registration procedure:
Obtain the Application Form and CHC: Pilgrims must acquire the prescribed Application Form and Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) from authorized medical practitioners or institutions. The list of authorized doctors and institutions will be available on the official SASB website.
Fill and Submit the Application: Complete the Application Form and attach the CHC. Ensure all details are accurate and legible.
Choose the Mode of Registration:
- Offline Registration: Visit designated bank branches authorized by the SASB to submit the Application Form and CHC. Upon verification, a Yatra Permit (YP) will be issued. The list of authorized bank branches will be updated on the SASB website.
- Online Registration: The SASB plans to introduce an online registration system. Pilgrims can upload scanned copies of the Application Form and CHC in PDF format (size not exceeding 1MB). A recent passport-sized photograph in JPEG or JPG format (size not exceeding 1MB) is also required.
Registration Fee: A nominal fee (to be announced) will be charged per Yatra Permit. This fee contributes to the maintenance and facilities provided during the Yatra.
Group Registrations: For groups comprising relatives, friends, or neighbors, the SASB offers a Group Registration facility. Guidelines for group registrations will be available on the official website.
