Hyderabad, India , December 15, 2025 :
The Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-anticipated action sequel Akhanda 2: Thaandavam has made a powerful start at the box office, registering strong numbers across Telugu-speaking markets. The film, which finally hit theaters on December 13, 2025, after facing multiple delays, has collected an estimated ₹61.10 crore net in India over its opening weekend.
The film’s momentum peaked on Day 3 (Sunday), when it recorded robust Telugu occupancy of 51.77%, driven by Balakrishna’s mass appeal, festive footfalls, and the film’s immersive 3D presentation. Trade analysts note that the sequel has connected strongly with fans of high-voltage action dramas, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
On the global front, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam posted a worldwide gross of approximately ₹83 crore, with overseas markets contributing ₹10.60 crore. The film’s international performance was led by strong openings in the US, Australia, and the Gulf region, where Balakrishna enjoys a loyal fan base.
Directed by Boyapati Srinu, the film continues the franchise’s signature blend of mythology-infused action, mass elevations, and spiritual undertones. While it trails behind the year’s biggest blockbuster Dhurandhar in overall collections, Akhanda 2 has held steady despite competition from releases such as Kapil Sharma’s comedy Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2.
With the holiday season approaching, trade experts expect collections to remain stable or even rise in the coming weeks, positioning Akhanda 2: Thaandavam as one of the strongest Telugu performers of December 2025.
