The Indian box office continues to be dominated by Dhurandhar 2, which remains a strong force in theaters even after nearly a month of release. Meanwhile, newer releases like Dakaait and the Hollywood film Project Hail Mary are struggling to keep pace.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ Maintains Stronghold Despite Dip
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 continues its impressive theatrical run. The film, which hit cinemas on March 19, saw a slight dip on Day 29 (Thursday), earning ₹3.40 crore, down from ₹4.05 crore on Wednesday.
Despite the slowdown, the film’s total domestic collection has reached ₹1103.12 crore, cementing its blockbuster status.
Weekly Breakdown:
- Week 1: ₹674.17 crore
- Week 2: ₹263.65 crore
- Week 3: ₹110.60 crore
Closing in on a Global Record
Globally, Dhurandhar 2 is performing exceptionally well, with a worldwide gross of ₹1737.74 crore in 29 days. The film is now on the verge of surpassing Pushpa 2, which holds a worldwide collection record of ₹1742.10 crore.
The film features a star-studded cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun.
‘Dakaait’ Fails to Impress
In contrast, Dakaait, starring Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh, continues to underperform. Released on April 10, the film collected ₹1.25 crore on its seventh day, down from ₹1.55 crore on Wednesday.
Its total domestic collection stands at ₹28.30 crore, reflecting a weak opening week and limited audience traction.
‘Project Hail Mary’ Slows Down
The Hollywood release Project Hail Mary, which debuted in India on March 26, is still running in theaters but has seen its earnings drop significantly.
On Day 22, the film earned just ₹99 lakh, compared to ₹1.15 crore the previous day. Its total India box office collection now stands at ₹59.99 crore.
