Indian Box Office Weekend Update: Kerala Story 2 Leads Saturday Collections in March 2026

Mumbai, India – March 8, 2026

Several Hindi films experienced a positive bump in collections on Saturday amid the weekend footfall, though no major blockbuster dominated the screens. The Kerala Story 2 led the pack with a healthy jump, benefiting from sustained audience interest in its sequel narrative.

The Kerala Story 2, released on February 27, 2026, saw its collections rise notably on its ninth day. The film collected an estimated 3.75 crore net on Saturday, up from 2.75 crore the previous day. This pushed its India net total to approximately 29.4 crore, positioning it close to the 30 crore mark and nearing full budget recovery against its reported 28 crore cost.

O Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, continued its steady run into its later weeks. On its 23rd day, the Vishal Bhardwaj-directed film earned around 70 lakh, improving from 50 lakh on Friday. The romantic action thriller’s cumulative India net now stands at about 69.4 crore, maintaining decent holds despite competition from newer releases.

Anubhav Sinha’s courtroom drama Assi, featuring Taapsee Pannu, showed marginal improvement on its 16th day with a collection of 30 lakh—matching its Friday figure. The film’s total has reached roughly 10.10 crore net after a slow theatrical journey.

Newer release Charak, which hit theaters on March 6, 2026, registered a modest uptick. After opening to just 10 lakh on day one, it collected 15 lakh on Saturday (day two), bringing its early total to 25 lakh. The film, lacking strong pre-release buzz, remains in the low-earning category.

Overall, the Bollywood box office reflected a typical weekend pattern with holds and minor jumps for ongoing releases, while awaiting bigger arrivals later in March. No single film emerged as a massive draw, but sustained interest in select titles provided some relief to theaters.
