Bollywood Box Office: Charak's Dismal ₹10 Lakh Day 1, Kerala Story 2 and Assi Collections March 2026

Mumbai, March 7, 2026

Hindi thriller-drama ‘Charak‘ (also known as ‘Charak: Fair of Faith‘), released on March 6, 2026, opened to a very weak response at the box office, collecting only around ₹10 lakh net on its first day, according to early estimates from Sacnilk.

The film, which explores themes of tantra-mantra, superstition, and thriller elements, failed to attract significant audiences, resulting in low occupancy and a slow start across limited screens. Industry trackers report modest footfalls, with the movie struggling to gain traction on its debut Friday.

In comparison, ongoing releases showed varied performance. ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond,’ now in its second week, maintained decent momentum by adding approximately ₹2.50 crore net on its eighth day (Friday). The film’s cumulative India net collection has reached ₹25.40 crore so far, continuing to draw viewers despite facing competition and earlier controversies.

Meanwhile, ‘Assi,’ the courtroom drama starring Taapsee Pannu and directed by Anubhav Sinha, has seen its collections taper off significantly after 15 days in theaters. On its 15th day (Friday), the film earned about ₹22 lakh net, bringing its total India net to around ₹9.8 crore. The story, focusing on a rape survivor’s ordeal and critiques of the legal system, has received attention for its subject matter but has not sustained strong audience turnout in later weeks.
