Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised the recently concluded AI Impact Summit 2026 in the capital, saying the world has openly recognized India’s growing strength in artificial intelligence.
In a social media post, Modi said the summit demonstrated that the innovative thinking of India’s young talent in technology will benefit humanity at large. He described the event as historic and highlighted the global appreciation India received for its AI capabilities.
The AI Impact Summit 2026 concluded last week with the adoption of the “New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact,” a document aimed at strengthening global cooperation in artificial intelligence. The declaration received support from 89 countries and international organizations, signaling broad international consensus on leveraging AI for economic growth and social welfare.
Global Leaders Attend AI Summit
The high-profile conference in New Delhi brought together several world leaders, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres, French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Swiss President Guy Parmelin.
Other notable participants included Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Seychelles Vice President Sebastien Pillay, Estonian President Alar Karis, and Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
