Speculation surrounding the lead role in Don 3 has intensified following Ranveer Singh’s reported withdrawal from the project, but claims that director Farhan Akhtar will step in to play Don himself have been dismissed as inaccurate.
According to a report, suggestions that Farhan Akhtar would take the iconic role after Ranveer Singh distanced himself are incorrect. Earlier rumors had linked Hrithik Roshan to the character, but the actor publicly clarified he was never part of the project.
Other reports claimed Shah Rukh Khan had agreed to reprise the role on the condition that Atlee direct the film. Sources close to the production maintain that, as the franchise creator, Farhan Akhtar is unlikely to relinquish directing responsibilities.
No official confirmation has been issued by any party involved, and industry insiders describe the ongoing discussions as unsubstantiated rumors.
Farhan Akhtar originally announced Don 3 in 2023, revealing Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani in lead roles. Current reports indicate no actors are officially attached to the project at this stage.
