Speaking at Advantage Vidarbha 2026, Jeet Adani, Director at Adani Group, outlined a long-term investment vision that places the region at the center of India’s energy, logistics, and employment future.
Addressing policymakers, industry leaders, and investors, Adani credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for creating an ecosystem driven by strong infrastructure, policy stability, and investor confidence. According to him, these factors have transformed Nagpur and the wider Vidarbha region into a fast-rising investment hotspot.
₹70,000 Crore Integrated Energy Bet
Jeet Adani emphasized that the group’s presence in Vidarbha is not transactional but generational. Strengthening Maharashtra’s energy security remains a priority through the operational Tirora power plant (3,300 MW) and the Butibori power project (600 MW), which together ensure reliable electricity supply for the state.
Looking ahead, Adani highlighted the group’s most ambitious proposal so far—a ₹70,000 crore integrated coal gasification complex planned at Linga in Kalmeshwar, near Nagpur. Once operational, the project is expected to place Nagpur prominently on the global clean energy and chemicals manufacturing map while creating nearly 30,000 direct jobs.
Industry experts at the event noted that such large-scale clean energy-linked investments could redefine Vidarbha’s economic profile and significantly boost regional employment.
Logistics, Aviation, and Sustainable Mining
Leveraging Nagpur’s central geographic location, the Adani Group is also developing Vidarbha into a national logistics and aviation hub. Expansion of the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) facility at MIHAN and the Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Borkhedi are positioning the region as a critical logistics gateway for central India.
In Gondkhairi, the group’s environmentally responsible underground mining project is being developed with a “zero displacement” approach, alongside water conservation initiatives—setting a benchmark for sustainable industrial practices.

Jeet Adani reiterated that industrial progress must go hand in hand with inclusive development. Through the Adani Foundation, the group continues to invest in education and healthcare initiatives across Vidarbha, ensuring that the benefits of economic growth reach communities at every level.
