The patriotic war drama ‘Border 2’ continues its strong run at the box office, crossing the ₹50 crore mark by 6 PM on its second day, according to early estimates. The film’s steady performance highlights strong audience interest heading into a long Republic Day weekend.

Starring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty, Border 2 has managed to strike an emotional chord with viewers, much like the original Border. The film opened to impressive numbers and has maintained momentum into its second day.

Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 2

As per data reported by Sacnilk, Border 2 earned approximately ₹21.08 crore on Day 2, adding to its ₹30 crore opening-day collection. With this, the film’s total domestic box office collection stands at ₹51.08 crore within just two days of release.

Notably, Border 2 surpassed the opening-day collection of the recent release ‘Dhurandhar’, which had earned ₹28 crore on Day 1. The strong early performance positions Border 2 among the biggest openers of the year so far.

Comparison With Recent Big Releases

Going by second-day figures, Border 2 has delivered a competitive performance compared to major releases from last year. While Dhurandhar earned ₹32 crore on its second day, Saiyaara collected ₹26 crore, and Chhaava posted a Day 2 collection of ₹39.30 crore.

Despite intense competition, Border 2’s steady growth reflects strong word of mouth and repeat viewership, particularly in urban centers.

Extended Weekend Boost Expected

The film is well-positioned to benefit from a three-day extended weekend, with Saturday, Sunday, and Republic Day on January 26 expected to drive higher footfalls. According to industry reports, several theaters have expanded show timings, scheduling screenings from 7:00 AM through 3:00 AM to accommodate growing demand.

Trade experts suggest that if current trends continue, Border 2 could approach the ₹100 crore milestone within its first week.
