Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has landed in legal trouble ahead of his upcoming film Battle of Galwan. The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the actor following a petition filed by a Chinese artificial intelligence company, alleging the unauthorized use of Salman Khan’s personality rights.
The court has scheduled the next hearing for February 27, 2026, according to legal sources.
What Is the Case About?
The petition claims that Salman Khan’s name, image, and personality attributes were allegedly used without proper authorization in connection with the promotion or development of the film Battle of Galwan.
The plea argues that such usage violates personality rights, which protect individuals from the commercial exploitation of their identity without consent.
Court Proceedings So Far
Taking cognizance of the petition, the Delhi High Court issued a formal notice to Salman Khan, seeking his response. The court has not passed any interim order at this stage and will hear arguments from both sides during the next hearing.
Film Under Spotlight
Battle of Galwan is one of Salman Khan’s most anticipated upcoming projects and is based on events surrounding the Galwan Valley conflict, making it a politically and diplomatically sensitive subject. The legal notice has now added a fresh layer of scrutiny to the film ahead of its production and release plans.
Industry Impact
Legal experts say the case could have wider implications for Bollywood and the use of AI technologies, especially concerning digital likeness, promotional content, and intellectual property rights in films.
Neither Salman Khan nor the makers of Battle of Galwan have issued an official statement on the matter so far.
