Bollywood films continued their strong dominance at the Indian box office over the weekend, outperforming Hollywood releases as Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar shattered records, while Anaconda struggled to attract audiences.
Indian cinemas are currently hosting a mix of domestic and international releases, but box office numbers clearly favor Bollywood. Among the major performers, Dhurandhar maintained its exceptional momentum, whereas Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri saw a weekend dip. Hollywood’s Avatar: Fire and Ash benefited from the weekend rush, but Anaconda failed to make a significant impact.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri
The romantic drama starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday witnessed a slowdown during the weekend. On Sunday, the film collected ₹4.97 crore, taking its total domestic box office earnings to ₹23.47 crore. The film was released in theaters on December 25.
Avatar: Fire and Ash
James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash gained from the weekend footfall, earning ₹10.75 crore on Sunday. The film’s total India box office collection now stands at ₹137.65 crore since its theatrical release on December 19.
Dhurandhar
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continues to dominate the box office with remarkable consistency. The film earned ₹20.9 crore on its fourth Saturday, followed by approximately ₹22 crore on Sunday. In just 24 days, Dhurandhar has amassed around ₹728 crore, making it the highest-grossing film of the year.
Anaconda
The Hollywood release Anaconda has struggled to connect with Indian audiences. The film earned only ₹1 crore on Sunday, bringing its four-day total to ₹4.45 crore. Compared to Avatar: Fire and Ash, Anaconda has failed to draw sustained footfall in theaters.
