Actress Malavika Mohanan is all set to make a big splash in Telugu cinema with her role as Bhairavi in the upcoming film The Raja Saab (2026), starring alongside superstar Prabhas. For Malavika, who has long admired Prabhas, sharing screen space with him fulfills a lifelong dream.
Career Beginnings and Breakthroughs
Malavika’s first acting opportunity came through veteran actor Mammootty, who noticed her during an ad shoot and recommended her for his son Dulquer Salman’s film Pattam Pole (2013). Interestingly, she designed her own costumes for that film when the costume designer fell ill.
She gained wider recognition with her role in Majid Majidi’s internationally acclaimed film Beyond the Clouds (2017). In addition, she debuted in Malayalam cinema with Hridayapoorvam (2025), co-starring Mohanlal, and is slated to appear in the Tamil action thriller Sardar 2 (2026) alongside Karthi.
Personal Life and Interests
Malavika shares a close friendship with actor Vicky Kaushal, whose father is a longtime friend of her father, cinematographer K.U. Mohanan. She is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, a passionate traveler, and a food enthusiast, particularly fond of biryani, filter coffee, and Italian dessert tiramisu.
She runs her own fashion blog, The Scarlet Window, and has actively participated in social campaigns such as Chappal Maroongi, addressing harassment during her college years. Malavika also voices her opinions on women’s representation in films and feminism, emphasizing socially conscious storytelling.
