Bollywood superstar Salman Khan surprised fans with a powerful birthday release as the teaser of his upcoming war drama ‘Battle of Galwan’ dropped on his 60th birthday, instantly setting social media abuzz. The long-awaited teaser has sparked intense discussion, sharply dividing audience opinion.
In the teaser, Salman Khan is seen portraying Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, a brave Indian Army officer, set against the harsh terrain of Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. Shot at nearly 15,000 feet above sea level, the visuals show snow-covered mountains, a tense face-off with enemy forces, and Salman advancing alone with a heavy wooden baton—symbolizing courage, sacrifice, and resolve.
Dialogues are minimal, but the commanding background score and Salman’s deep, resonant voice create a somber and intense atmosphere. His presence is raw, restrained, and grounded in patriotism rather than spectacle.
A large section of fans have already declared the film “blockbuster material.” Social media reactions praise the teaser’s seriousness and emotional weight, with users highlighting the absence of unnecessary drama. Many hailed Salman’s intense look and strong background music, calling it one of the most promising performances of his career. Patriotic slogans and “Jai Hind” messages flooded platforms, with fans calling the teaser the “perfect birthday gift.”
However, not all reactions were positive. Some viewers questioned Salman Khan’s expressions, arguing that his performance reminded them of his earlier romantic roles rather than the gravity of a real-life military conflict. Others criticized the direction and cinematography, suggesting the Galwan Valley clash, a sensitive and historic event, deserved deeper realism and nuance.
The 1 minute 12 second teaser opens with sweeping shots of Ladakh as Salman’s voiceover delivers a powerful line:
“Soldiers, remember—if you’re wounded, consider it a medal; if you see death, salute it.”
The teaser closes with chants of Birsa Munda, Bajrang Bali, and Bharat Mata Ki Jai, reinforcing the film’s patriotic core.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Battle of Galwan is based on the June 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh. The film stars Chitrangada Singh alongside Salman Khan and is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 17, 2026. While details about the full cast and storyline remain under wraps, anticipation continues to build.
