Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) announced on Tuesday that its ₹999.99 crore rights issue has been oversubscribed by nearly two times, reflecting strong investor interest in the infrastructure major.
According to the company, it received applications worth ₹2,008 crore, significantly exceeding the issue size. HCC said it will retain funds equivalent to the issue amount, while the excess subscription money will be refunded to investors in line with applicable regulatory norms.
Refunds and Share Allocation
The company clarified that equity shares will be allotted to eligible applicants on a proportionate basis, in accordance with the basis of allotment finalized for the issue.
“The remaining amount, over and above the issue size, will be returned to investors as per regulations,” HCC said in its official statement.
Strong Investor Response
Market participants view the oversubscription as a positive signal for HCC, which has been focusing on strengthening its balance sheet and funding ongoing and future infrastructure projects through the rights issue.
The successful capital raise is expected to support the company’s financial stability and project execution pipeline in the coming quarters.
