Mumbai | December 17, 2025 :
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan shared candid reflections on his personal life, family, and professional experiences in a wide-ranging interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, published on December 15-16, 2025.
The 55-year-old star, hailing from the royal Pataudi family, opened up about early insecurities during his romance with Kareena Kapoor Khan, which began on the sets of Tashan (2008). The couple married in 2012 and has two sons, Taimur (born 2016) and Jehangir (born 2021).
Saif admitted to feeling jealous during their dating phase: “In the beginning, I wasn’t very easy to deal with. Maybe I was a bit jealous and unsure of how to react to her working with other men.” He acknowledged that dating a working actress was a new challenge: “My rivals would be her allies… Normally, I had gone out with girls who had nothing to do with movies.” He credited advice from friend Rani Mukerji and mutual trust for helping him mature. Today, he praises Kareena extensively: “She is genuinely a remarkable woman… one of the most patient and affectionate individuals… She creates a beautiful home for us.”
On performing at weddings, Saif described discomfort with domestic high-profile events. Recalling a humiliating early experience, he said: “I was dancing at a wedding once in Bombay and my aunt, my father’s sister, who is quite a regal lady, came backstage and said, ‘Don’t tell me you are dancing at this wedding.’” He feels a disconnect due to his royal lineage but enjoys international weddings: “I danced at a wedding in Portugal and it was amazing… Something about it makes it feel alright when it is abroad and done in a certain way.” He emphasized he doesn’t judge others who enjoy performing in family settings.
The interview also touched on the impact of social media on stardom and his recent projects, including Jewel Thief. Overall, Saif’s reflections showcase his evolution from early relationship struggles to maintaining a balanced family life while navigating the pressures of fame.
