nvestment Boom: InCred Raises ₹600 Cr for Private Credit Expansion

Mumbai, April 3, 2025 – InCred Alternative Investments Private Limited (“InCred Alternative Investments”), a part of InCred Capital Financial Services Limited (“InCred Capital”), has successfully secured commitments exceeding ₹600 crore (US$70 million) for its maiden special situations credit fund, InCred Special Opportunities Fund-I (ISOF-I). This milestone underscores the growing investor confidence in India’s private credit market, particularly in funds backed by a proven track record of strong returns.

The commitments were secured from a mix of domestic and offshore Limited Partners (LPs), reflecting the high demand for diversified, high-yield credit strategies. ISOF-I remains open for further capital mobilization and is expected to draw continued investor interest throughout the year.

A High-Yield Market-Agnostic Investment Strategy

ISOF-I is a Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) with a base corpus of ₹1,000 crore and an additional ₹500 crore green shoe option. Designed to generate superior risk-adjusted returns, the fund leverages a market-agnostic strategy that ensures regular distributions and significant alpha generation.

Following the success of its performing credit strategy—where it manages two funds with a strong track record of income distribution—InCred Alternative Investments is now entering the special opportunities space. ISOF-I focuses on old economy sectors, ensuring a well-diversified portfolio with strong collateral cover for downside protection.

Strategic Investment Approach

Led by seasoned investment professionals with deep expertise in credit and special situation investing, the fund targets higher returns compared to traditional performing credit mandates. The investment approach focuses on dislocated secondary market opportunities, cash flow mismatches, and flexible debt solutions, positioning ISOF-I to capitalize on evolving market dynamics.

Leadership Perspective

Saurabh Jhalaria, Chief Investment Officer – Private Credit, InCred Alternative Investments, commented on the achievement:

“We are thrilled to announce that InCred Special Opportunities Fund (ISOF-I) has secured commitments over ₹600 crore. This milestone reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative private credit solutions. By leveraging the InCred Group’s strong origination strengths and experienced underwriting team, we aim to generate 21-23% returns. ISOF-I is well-positioned to capitalize on emerging market opportunities while ensuring sustained value for our investors.”

Outlook for 2025 and Beyond

With India’s private credit market on a strong growth trajectory, ISOF-I’s success highlights the robust demand for alternative investment solutions. As market conditions continue to evolve, ISOF-I remains a key player in unlocking strategic investment opportunities while ensuring strong risk-adjusted returns for its stakeholders.
