America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has nominated Indian-origin Kashyap alias Kash Patel as the new director of the federal investigation agency FBI. Kash Patel is considered very close to Donald Trump and after Trump’s victory, there was talk that Trump could give important responsibility to Kash Patel. Kash Patel has been a vocal supporter of eliminating the deep state within the US government.
Donald Trump wrote in a post shared on social media that ‘Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator and America First warrior who has spent his career exposing corruption, protecting justice and protecting the American people.’ During Donald Trump’s first term, Kash Patel played an important role in exposing the ‘Russia Hoax’ case. Donald Trump is not happy with the work of the current FBI director Christopher Ray. Trump himself appointed Ray as the director of the FBI in 2017, but Trump is very angry with the way Ray took action against Trump in the investigation related to confidential documents.
Kash Patel is a vocal critic of the FBI of which he has been nominated as the director. During a TV show, Kash Patel (44 years old) has talked about making radical changes in the FBI. In which stopping the FBI from gathering intelligence and rebuilding the FBI headquarters are Kash Patel’s priorities. Kash Patel says that as soon as he takes over his post, from the very next day he will send seven thousand employees working in the FBI headquarters to the field because their job is to catch criminals. Kash Patel has also said that he will make the FBI headquarters outside Washington DC so that the FBI can be kept away from political influence. Kash Patel will work under Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Kash Patel was born in Queens, New York, to parents of Gujarati origin who had migrated to the US from East Africa. Kash Patel has a law degree and has worked as a public prosecutor for the state of Florida. Kash Patel later joined the Department of Justice and worked there as a prosecutor. In the Justice Department, Kash Patel handled high-profile international terrorism cases. Kash Patel’s career took a U-turn when he joined the Defense Department as a lawyer. From here he came in contact with US Congress member Devin Nunes, who was then the chairman of the Parliament’s Intelligence Committee. It was Nunes who appointed Kash Patel as a senior lawyer in anti-terrorism cases. Kash Patel was also part of the Republican Party’s investigation into the FBI investigation into the Russia case during the first term of the Trump government. Kash Patel also played an important role in preparing the Republican Party’s manifesto during the presidential election.
