The Supreme Court on Thursday kept the phase four of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) implemented in Delhi-NCR in force. The court has not given permission to remove it at the moment. During the hearing, it was said that the measures of Grape-4 will continue till Monday (December 2) at all places except schools. Apart from this, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has been asked to hold a meeting and suggest moving from Grape-4 to Grape-3 or Grape-2. The court further said that action should be expedited against the officials who have made serious lapses in curbing Grape-4.

Earlier on November 18, while calling Grape-4 applicable, the court reprimanded the Delhi government and said that it would not allow the removal or reduction of measures to prevent or reduce pollution without prior permission. Justice Abhay S. The bench of Justices A.K. Oka and Augustine George Masih had said that there was delay in implementation of preventive measures under Phase 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) even after the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital reached hazardous levels.
