Shimla – There will be a review of BPL card holders in Himachal Pradesh. Affluent families who have been in the Below Poverty Line list for years will be identified and removed from the list. This issue will be considered in the Gram Sabha meeting to be held in November in the Panchayats. During this review, there will be a discussion on removing such families who have become financially prosperous or who have government jobs, vehicles, concrete houses, but are still using BPL benefits. In Himachal Pradesh, financially prosperous people have been in the BPL list for many years. Such a list will be discussed in all the Panchayats in the Gram Sabha meetings so that the real needy can get its benefit. Due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct during the Panchayat by-elections, the Gram Sabha meetings could not be held in April this year. Due to this, the review process of the BPL list got delayed, which will now be completed during the meetings to be held in November.
