The issue of use of animal fat in the world famous Tirupati laddu has heated up politically. A few days ago, Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu had accused the previous YSRCP government that animal fat was used in the world famous Tirupati laddu during the tenure of the previous government. CM Naidu claimed in the NDA Legislature Party meeting that Tirumala laddus were also made with substandard material. They used animal fat instead of ghee.

A report has also confirmed that the laddus were adulterated. After the report came out, TDP spokesperson Anam Venkat Raman Reddy said that the laboratory report of the samples sent for testing certifies that beef fat, animal fat, lard and fish oil were used in the ghee, which was offered to Tirumala.

Anam Venkat Raman Reddy further said that this is an insult to Hinduism. Prasadam offered to God three times a day has been mixed with this ghee. He said, we hope that justice will be done and Lord Govinda will forgive us for whatever mistakes have been made. CM Naidu also reacted after the report came out. He said that no one involved in this irregularity will be spared.

The CM said that the lab report that came clearly shows that the quality of the prasad was compromised, it has been adulterated with impure things. Action has also been initiated against some people responsible for all this. Some people have also been removed from work. Naidu said that keeping full care of the purity of the prasad, pure ghee is now being used. ( PLC & GT )
