Washington  : US Senator Marco Rubio proposed a bill about India in the US Congress, in which it was said that the US government should treat India in the same way as it treats its top allies. According to the bill, just as we are committed to transfer technology to NATO allies and protect their sovereignty, we should be prepared for India in the same way. India’s biggest problem is terrorism coming from Pakistan and the border with China, we should help India on those issues. US MP Rubio said, Communist China is constantly engaged in expanding its borders in Indo Pacific with its expansionist policy. We need India’s support to correct these actions of China in the region.

The bill brought by Rubio can play a role in furthering the relations between India and America, but right now there is an election atmosphere in America. Due to lack of time and internal division in Congress, the possibility of this bill moving forward is negligible. But it is clear that both parties in America give importance to strengthening relations with India.

The bill said that the partnership between India and America is important to counter China. Also, according to the bill, America will support India in response to the growing threats to its territorial integrity. And will also help India in every possible way to stop India’s opponents, as well as America will cooperate with India in relation to defense, civilian space.

After the passage of this law, it will provide India a limited exemption from CAATSA sanctions for the purchase of Russian military equipment that are currently used by the Indian Army. According to the bill, it is in the interest of the US that India has the necessary capabilities to prevent threats. Therefore, India should also be treated like NATO allies, in which partner countries are provided with weapons as well as technology.

Not only this, the bill clearly states to Pakistan that if it is involved in any kind of terrorism against India, then all the assistance and security it is getting will be stopped with immediate effect.

This is the first time such an India-focused bill has been introduced in the US Congress, which seeks to place India as a NATO ally and exempt it from CAATSA sanctions and impose sanctions on Pakistan for promoting terrorism against India.
