Amarnath Yatra 2024: More than 3 lakh devotees visited Baba Barfani

Pahalgam / Baltal : More than three lakh devotees have visited Baba Barfani in the last 15 days in the Amarnath Yatra. On Sunday morning, another batch of 4,889 pilgrims left for the Kashmir Valley. Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) officials said that about three lakh devotees have visited the holy cave during the last 15 days. 4,889 pilgrims left for the valley from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in two security convoys on Sunday morning.

The first security convoy carrying 1,896 pilgrims in 78 vehicles left for the Baltal base camp in North Kashmir at 3:05 am. The second security convoy carrying 2,993 pilgrims in 105 vehicles left for the Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp in South Kashmir at 3:55 am. This holy cave is located at an altitude of 3,888 metres above sea level in the Kashmir Himalayas. This year’s yatra will conclude after 52 days on August 29, coinciding with the Shravan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan festival.
