Washington : Students intensified protests against US President Joe Biden’s handling of the war in Gaza. In such a situation, Columbia University has announced that it will conduct online classes. Media reports have revealed that parents of many students are also demanding refund of tuition fees. In an official statement, the President of Columbia University said that students from many communities are scared. He said that we have announced action to address security concerns. There is an ongoing conflict in Gaza with devastating humanitarian consequences.
Police said 133 people protesting near New York University on Monday were arrested but were later released and issued summons to appear in court. New York City Mayor Eric Adams said protesters attacked police officers with bottles and other objects during protests this week. Students at Yale University in Connecticut refused to stop the demonstration, after which police arrested 60 protesters, including 47 students.
Protests are taking place in many parts of America against the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. Last week, New York Ivy League students had protested against Israel, which turned into a major movement by Tuesday. The protests intensified with the arrest of more than 100 students protesting on the Manhattan campus of Columbia University. Police have arrested protesters from many places. Seeing the increasing tension in Columbia, the university has decided to conduct online classes for the remaining semester.
