San Francisco : The Tesla chief Elon Musk’s visit to India has been postponed. It is reported that Musk himself decided to postpone this tour for some time. Let us tell you that Musk was going to come to India on Monday itself and meet PM Narendra Modi. Musk also posted about this from his handle on X. He said, it is unfortunate that I have to postpone my visit to India due to my responsibility towards Tesla. But I am looking forward to the opportunity to come to India this year itself.
According to media reports, three people with knowledge of the matter have confirmed the postponement of Musk’s visit. However, the reasons for this have not been disclosed. No statement has been issued yet by Tesla or the Government of India on this.
It is noteworthy that only last week, Elon Musk himself had confirmed his visit to India. However, details related to his visit were kept secret. Sources had claimed that Musk’s visit will likely coincide with the announcement of Tesla’s investment plans and the opening of a new factory in the country.
Both the state governments of Maharashtra and Gujarat have reportedly offered Tesla lucrative land for this purpose. The proposed manufacturing plant, which is estimated to involve an investment of US$2 billion to US$3 billion, aims to meet both domestic and international demand for Tesla’s electric vehicles.
