Arunachal Pradesh Standoff: India Rejects China’s Criticism of PM Modi’s Visit

New Delhi : India has given a strong reaction to China’s comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Arunachal. The Ministry of External Affairs said that we reject the comments of the Chinese side regarding the Prime Minister’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh. The state of Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will always be an integral and unbreakable part of India.

China had raised questions on PM Modi’s visit

In fact, China had lodged a protest with India regarding Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Arunachal. China on Monday said it has lodged a diplomatic protest with India over PM Modi’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh last week and said India’s move will only (further) complicate the border dispute. Also, China again asserted its claim on this area.

India gave strong reaction to China’s comment

At the same time, India has registered its protest against China’s statement. The Ministry of External Affairs said that we reject the comments of the Chinese side regarding the Prime Minister’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh. Indian leaders visit Arunachal Pradesh from time to time, just as they visit other states of India. It is not right for China to object to such visits or development projects of India.

He said that China’s objection will not change the reality that the state of Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the Chinese side has been apprised of this continuing situation on several occasions.
