Kolkata : A live-in girl killed her partner by stabbing him with a knife. After this he called the police and surrendered himself. The deceased has been identified as Sarthak Das and was living with the accused’s girlfriend Samhathi Paul, who is a professional makeup artist. The accused woman is divorced and also has a son.
According to the report, this couple was living-in in a rented flat for about one and a half years. There were a lot of fights between the two in recent times. Samhati Paul stabbed his live-in partner Sarthak Das multiple times with a knife on Wednesday. After this the woman herself called the police. Immediately after receiving the call, the police reached the couple’s apartment in Dumdum area in North 24 Parganas, Kolkata. In the room, they found Sarthak’s blood stained body, which had multiple knife stab marks on it. However, Sarthak was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The police officer said that during interrogation the woman confessed that she had murdered Sarthak Das. However, the reasons behind Sarthak’s murder have not been known. The police have arrested the woman on charges of murder. Barrackpore DCP (South Zone) Anupam Singh said, ‘We have arrested the woman and seized the weapon used in the murder.
