Jammu: Indian Railways has announced the operation of two additional special trains for the convenience of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims. Previously, the Railways had arranged five extra special trains for the Amarnath Yatra. A spokesperson for the railway stated that due to the increased number of passengers during the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir, two summer special trains will be operated between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
Train number 04087, named New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Gatishakti Summer Special Express, will make two trips. The Gati Shakti Summer Special train will depart from New Delhi at 11:15 PM on July 2 and arrive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 11:25 AM the next day.
On the return journey, train number 04088, named Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – New Delhi Gati Shakti Summer Special, will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 06:30 PM on July 3 and reach New Delhi at 06:50 AM the next day. This train will have air-conditioned coaches. It will halt at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur stations in both directions.
Another train, number 04095, will also make two trips between Delhi Junction and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. This summer special train will depart from Delhi Junction at 11:15 PM on July 3 and arrive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 11:25 AM the next day.
On the return journey, train number 04096 will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 06:30 PM on July 4 and reach Delhi Junction at 06:50 AM the next day. This train will have air-conditioned, sleeper, and general class coaches. It will halt at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, and Udhampur stations in both directions.
