Washington : United Nations General Assembly President Saba Korosi has given a big statement regarding India on UNSC reforms. The UNGA chief said that the UNSC needs better representatives like India in the Security Council.

United Nations General Assembly President Saba Korosi said that India is not alone. The Security Council that we have today is inherited from decades and decades ago, with different superpowers charting different paths, different balance of power. At that time, India was not among the largest countries. The future will certainly be very different from the past.
‘India can contribute to world welfare’
Saba Korosi said that there is a perception among member states that we need a better representative, which includes countries that have a greater responsibility for peace. There is a great responsibility to do good to the people and India certainly believes that it can contribute to the welfare of the world. He said that the matter of reform is going on in the process of negotiation for 13 years, so it is high time it is all in the hands of the member states, but India is one of the most active supporters of early reform of the Security Council.
‘I was deeply affected after meeting PM Modi’
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in the Yoga Day at the United Nations Headquarters, United Nations General Assembly President Saba Korosi said that I met Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi a few months ago and found a visionary, strategic minded, tradition of a nation I was deeply impressed after meeting the man who brought India with him and the man who was clear about where modern India should look. He said that I am very happy to greet him. He is very welcome at the United Nations and he is one of the most respected world leaders to be here in a very short time.
