America will help India to play a comprehensive and stable role in the Indo-Pacific region
The Pentagon, an American organization affiliated with the US Defense Ministry, will help India play a ‘comprehensive and stable role’ in the strategically important Indo-Pacific region. A senior Pentagon defense official gave this information. Since taking power in January 2021, the Biden administration has taken several steps to strengthen India-US defense ties.
The senior defense official said, “India is rapidly moving towards defense modernisation. I believe that India is very important in providing security in the Indian Ocean region and its role should be broadened in the Indo-Pacific region as well. “The United States wants to ensure that we build a partnership with India so that it can play a comprehensive and stable role in the region,” he said.
According to the official, “We are focusing heavily on ways to advance the interoperability process between the US and Indian forces. The initiative I am talking about here is about the exercise between the three wings of the army. He said, in our view, through this, the armies of both the countries will be better prepared for the challenges that will come in the future.
This will require a joint response of both the parties. The senior defense official, however, declined to elaborate on how the two countries would respond to their shared challenges. The armies of India and the US have coordinated relief and rescue operations during several natural disasters in the past. PLC/GT
