Akshata, the wife of the newly elected Prime Minister of Britain, Rishi Sunak, has a wealth of billions. Akshata Murthy has earned Rs 126.61 crore as dividend in 2022 from her stake in Infosys, India’s second largest IT company. If it is measured in dollars, then this income works out to 15.3 million US dollars.
According to a regulatory filing on the stock exchange, Akshata Murthy, daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, held 3.89 crore, or 0.93 per cent, of Infosys at the end of September. His stake is worth Rs 5,956 crore at a trading price of Rs 1,527.40 on BSE on Tuesday. Let us tell you that Infosys is one of the best dividend paying companies in India. In 2021, it paid a total dividend of Rs 30 per share. Akshata had received a total of Rs 119.5 crore that year.
Infosys has paid a dividend of Rs 16 per share for the financial year 2021-22 on May 31 this year. For the current year this month the firm has declared an interim dividend of Rs 16.5, according to the filing made by the company with the stock exchange. The sum of both the dividends works out to Rs 32.5 per share. Accordingly, the value of Akshata Murthy’s dividend was Rs 126.61 crore. PLC/GT
