Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal receives rape threat
Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal is receiving rape threats. He had written a letter to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, demanding the removal of filmmaker and director Sajid Khan from the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. Some suspicious people have threatened her with rape on her Instagram account, on which Maliwal is now filing a case.
On this, Delhi Women’s Commission President Swati Maliwal said, “Ever since I have written a letter to the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister to get Sajid Khan out of Bigg Boss, I am being threatened with rape on Instagram. Obviously they want to stop our work. I am giving complaint to Delhi Police. File a lawsuit and investigate. Arrest those who are behind them.
In fact, earlier Swati Maliwal had said in her letter that, it is very unfortunate that after a few years, Sajid Khan is now participating as a ‘housemate’ in the new season of the popular reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. As evidenced by the complaints against him, it appears that Sajid Khan has worked as a sex offender for a long time.
Clearly it is unfair for an alleged sex offender like Sajid Khan to appear in primetime shows which are watched by adults and children alike. This clearly gives them an unfair opportunity to ‘clean up’ their mistakes and re-launch among the Indian audience. PLC/GT
