Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has given approval to make 128 posts permanent in government hospitals in Delhi. This information was given in an official statement on Friday.
The Lieutenant Governor said that removing ad-hocism and professional insecurities on the occasion of Doctor’s Day is the best way to show gratitude to the profession of doctors. Doctor’s Day is celebrated every year on July 1 in the honor of renowned physician and former Chief Minister of West Bengal Bidhan Chandra Roy, whose birth anniversary and death anniversary fall on July 1.
Expressing his gratitude towards the doctors, Lt Governor Saxena said that the best way to express gratitude for this profession is to provide best possible service conditions, work environment and professional safety to the community. Earlier the Lt Governor had approved 918 posts under various categories for Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka. Saxena on Thursday approved the conversion of 128 temporary posts into permanent posts.
According to the press release, many posts were either lying vacant since 2011-12 or were being operated on ad-hoc basis. With this decision, there will be permanent appointment for 76 posts in Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Medical College, 40 posts in Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, nine posts in Maulana Azad Medical College and three posts in Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.
The posts which have now been made permanent include Assistant Professor – Orthopedics, Senior Physician in Radiology, Surgeon, Dental Surgeon, Junior Resident Doctor, Staff Nurse, Clinical Instructor and Radiographer. PLC/GT
