Among all the people it is always hard to please children the most. The Children’s Film Society India (CFSI) has left no stone unturned to make this 3 day event a hit among the masses, especially the children. Starting from October 20th, 2011 till October 22nd, 2011 the Children’s Film Society India has lined up some very interesting films from all over the world for its viewers to enjoy.
The inauguration will be done by none other than the chairperson of CFSI Nandita Das, actress at 10:00am.
‘Krish, Trish and Baltiboys’ a 60 minute Hindi film by Munjal Shroff made in 2009 with a very engrossing concept, will be screened on the very first day that is the 20th October, 2011 at 10:00 am. Following the screening, a Script Writing Workshop will take place at 11:30 am. This will be an interesting interaction with the children which will surely get the creative juices flowing.
‘Lilki’ by Batul Mukhtiar a 69 min. hindi film made in 2007 will be screened at 1:00 pm. Apart from these film screenings, informative workshops on Film History of Indian Cinema will be held at 2:15 pm which will take you back to the history of the Indian Cinema and the movies that have made an impact on the world cinema.
The event continues the next day on 21st October, with a larger appeal in the form of Sankalp Meshram’s ‘Chutkan Ki Mahabharat’ a 87 minute film, made in 2006 as it promises to enthrall the children of all age groups. The screening of which begins at 10:00 am.
To get hands on experience with camera operations and techniques and to learn about the basics of cinematography, shots, movements, length etc. do not miss the Workshop on Cinematography which begins at 12:00pm.
Ever wondered of getting the intricate details of film making in the form of its grammar and interpretation? The Film Appreciation Session at 1:30pm will enlighten you with a workshop on understanding the cinema and the art of interpreting films, followed by a review writing competition.
‘Karamati Coat’ by Ajay Kartik will be screened at 4:00 pm. It is a 90 min. hindi film made in the year 1993. ‘Halo’ directed by Santosh Sivan is a 92 min. film made in 1996. It will be screened at 6:30 pm
‘Sunshine Barry and Disco Worms’ starts the morning of the final day of the festival, an English film made in 2008 by Thomas Borch Neilsen. It will be screened at 11:00 am.
The afternoon of 21st October, 2011 holds an interactive workshop on the Tools of the Director with a focus on working with actors. A special film maker will make his presence felt with his knowledge and input on film making focusing on children film production.
3:00pm is fun time for fans of film makers, where a competition will be held on writing a letter to your favorite film maker stating the reasons why you like his work by supporting them with examples from his films.
‘Yeh Hai Chhakad Bakad Bumbay Boo’ by Shridhar Rangayan an 82 minute fun film made in 2003 will be screened at 4:00pm. The final film screened at 6:30pm is of viewer’s favorite director Shyam Benegals ‘Charandas Chor’ made in 1975.
