  • Seeks details of oxygen beds, oxygen storage capacity of all hospitals

Haryana Health and Home Minister Anil Vij directed all the Deputy Commissioners to provide a blueprint for oxygen beds, oxygen storage capacity and other requirements including ventilators in all the private and government hospitals of their districts by 10 am on Thursday. Along with this, in view of the seriousness of the COVID-19 situation, orders have also been given to strictly enforce section 144.

While presiding over the meeting of the State Level COVID Monitoring Committee and Deputy Commissioners over videoconferencing today, Sh. Vij said that every COVID patient in the State has to be saved. For this, every necessary arrangement will be made. He said to ensure arrangements for funeral to be conducted on the same day for those who unfortunately lose their lives during COVID- 19 while observing COVID protocol. For this, additional cremation ground  should be selected as per requirement, he added. He said that apart from this, 20 Dial-112 vehicles are also being sent to every district, which should be used as per requirement.

The Health Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners to set up district level COVID Monitoring Committees with Secretaries of various departments including District Legal Services Authority, as their members. He directed all the Civil Surgeons to arrange for the consultation of the patients undergoing home isolation in their area every second day and make medicines, AYUSH kits and other necessary materials available to them. Along with this, numbers and names of doctors should be published so that patients in home isolation can regularly consult the doctors.

Sh. Vij directed all the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to maintain security in all private and government hospitals. Along with this, the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to increase the bed capacity at hospitals or other places in their districts so that no patient is denied treatment. He informed that Critical Corona Care Centres are being set up in all government medical colleges in the state. Along with this, to overcome the shortage of doctors, about 1400 PG and MBBS final students studying in medical colleges will be immediately deployed in the districts. He said that he has also appealed to the Indian Medical Association to send doctors.

The Home Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners to collect oxygen cylinders from all industries in their areas so that maximum oxygen can be stored. He said that oxygen will also be sourced from abroad to meet the needs of COVID patients of the state.

Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan directed the Deputy Commissioners to strictly follow the COVID-19 Protocol in the Micro Containment Zone. He said that the Deputy Commissioners and other administrative officers should make necessary arrangements after taking stock of the situation. Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sh. Rajiv Arora said that medical oxygen licenses will be made available in 24 hours to the industries in the districts, for which they should apply early. The number of ventilators in state government hospitals has been increased from 94 to 141. Rules for admission and discharge of COVID patients to hospitals will also be issued soon. Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, took stock of preparation for COVID from all the Deputy Commissioners and asked for immediate release of the required budget.

Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. DS Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Sh. PK Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education and Research Department, Sh. Alok Nigam, Director General of Police, Sh. Manoj Yadava, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal. , Managing Director, HMSCL, Dr. Saket Kumar, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Sh. Prabhjot Singh and many senior officers were present during the meeting.
