Rotary Sarai Area inaugurated in GMCH-32

Rotary Seral Aasra at GMCH-32, Chandigarh was handed over for public use by Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Ex-MP, Additional Solicitor General of India and a Member of the Law Commission of India, in a simple function held in GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh today evening. 
 
              The renovation and upgradation work was done by Rotary Chandigarh Midtown to improve the facility provided to attendants of poor patients receiving treatment at the hospital.  The 63 bedded Sarai provide boarding, lodging and locker facility to the inmates at a subsidised cost.  The public toilet facilities have been improved Rotary choupal and wash area for kitchen have been added to make the stay comfortable.  The canteen provides food at subsidised cost. 
 
              This Sarai has 62 beds with lockers attached, toilets, canteen wash area, herbal garden and Rotary choupal.  Started in 2009 it has been benefitting several hundred patient’s attendants every year by providing boarding and lodging at very subsidised cost.
 
              On this occasion the hospital administration was represented by DMS Dr. Palta.  The major donors for the project present on this occasion were Sh. Jeevan Aggarwal, Smt. Lata Aggarwal and Dr. Rita Kalra.
 
          Sh. Satya Pal Jain also distributed shawls to the residents alongwith senior Rotary members.  He appreciated the team efforts put in by Rotary to sustain this facility.  Other the dignitaries present were Sh. Narinder Pal Chaudhary and Smt. Mamta from Ward No. 6.
