New Delhi,
Launched in 2015, Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), has come a long way. The programme made sure that cleanliness and sanitation found a place in India’s governance landscape. The programme was aimed at transforming the behaviour of the masses on issues of sustainable waste management. It is quite apparent that six years after the announcement with much fanfare, there has been no. of brands who have initiated the campaign at their level to make a change in the society.
Launched under the Swachh Aadat, Swachh Bharat programme by Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), the Swachhata Doot initiative is an important step towards addressing and tackling India’s sanitation crisis. The Swachhata Doot programme urges everybody to be ‘messengers of change’. More than 4,000 employees from 25 HUL factories have embraced the new role of ‘Agents of Change’ (Swachhata Doot). They educate and motivate their communities to adopt better WASH habits.
