Mumbai : Swedish lifestyle brand Gaston Luga started selling its products in the country through e-commerce platforms Agio Lux, Tata Cliq Luxury and The White Crow. Possible brands to enter the Indian market this year include Spain’s fashion group Tandem and France’s apparel brand Kiabi. Global apparel brand Dockers opened its first Indian store in Delhi in February. It plans to open 20 stores in the country in the next two years.
Real estate consultants say that about 25 international retail brands selling lifestyle and luxury products can enter the Indian market this year. He says that this will strengthen the demand for commercial property market. About three such brands came to India in 2021 while 11 such brands entered the Indian market in 2022. It is estimated that in 2023, about 24 international brands will enter the Indian market, which will especially attract the middle class. French fashion and fragrance brand Mazon Majila opened a store in Mumbai’s Jio World Drive in January 2024 in partnership with Shoppers Stop and L’Oréal International Distribution. Later in February, British menswear brand Charles Tiritt opened its first store in Ahmedabad.
French luxury group SMCP plans to launch two of its labels – Sandro and Maje – in India this year in partnership with Reliance Brands Ltd. Anshuman Magazine, Chairman and CEO (India, Southeast Asia, West Asia and Africa), international real estate company CBRE, said, ‘There is a significant change in the Indian retail market landscape with the expected arrival of several leading international luxury fashion brands during the year 2024. It is going to happen.’ He said, ‘Well-known brands like Brioni, Roberto Cavalli and Dunhill can open their stores to meet the growing demand for high-end fashion in the country.
