New Delhi, December 5, 2025 – Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked India for the warm welcome and described discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as positive and friendly. He noted regular phone conversations between the leaders and affirmed Russia’s readiness to provide uninterrupted supplies of all types of fuel to support India’s economic progress.

Nuclear, Trade, and Transport Partnerships Advance

Putin highlighted Russia’s assistance in building India’s largest nuclear power plant, where three of six reactors are already connected to the energy grid. Both nations are gradually adopting national currencies for trade settlements, targeting $100 billion in annual bilateral trade, with ongoing talks for a free trade agreement between India and the Eurasian Economic Union.

Collaboration continues with Indian partners on new international transport routes, including the North-South corridor linking Russia or Belarus to the Indian Ocean coast.
