10 Tips on grooming during festival season

Festivals are surpassing all borders and traditions. Now a day, consumers love to experiment and indulge in fusion wear, new cuisines, travel and grooming during festivals.

Have a look at some easy tips of grooming naturally (Ayurvedic face packs for glowing skin), which can very well compliment your dress, during this Diwali.

1.    Butter, oil and flour for everyday glow

It’s quite easy to make this pack at home with all natural ingredients available at our doorstep.

Method:
You need to take a small bowl and add some lavender oil with two teaspoons of gram flour (besan), a pinch of turmeric powder, butter or fresh cream. Mix all well and make a pack to get glowing skin. Remove with gulaab jal (rose water) after 20 minutes.

2.    Figs and pumpkin face pack
Figs are known to have alpha hydro acids, antioxidants, and vitamins, which brighten the skin tone and exfoliate the skin.

Method:
Make a smooth paste of 2 figs and 2 slices of pumpkin and add a few drops of almond oil. Apply to clean skin. Keep it for an hour and wash it away with rose water.

3.    Glow as gold with marigold

Marigold flower is popularly known as ‘genda’. It is easily available in your garden. These flowers are very popular among Indians as it is used for worshiping. Thus, it is quite easy to get this flower in your neighbourhood.

Method:
Get about 3-4 marigold flowers, smash it well with hand or some heavy instrument. Now add one teaspoon of honey with some raw milk. Mix it really well. Apply on your skin and within 15 minutes wash it away with lukewarm water to get glowing skin.

4.    A minute with mint
Mint helps in clearing marks and helps to treat acne. It leaves the skin fresh and oil free also the pimples will soon reduce.

Method:
Simply grind the leaves of mint and squeeze the juice out of it. Apply this juice on pimple prone areas. Wash the area after half an hour with fresh water.

5.    Pomegranate and honey face pack

Everyone desires to look young forever. This best face pack is for youthful skin glow. Pomegranate is a rich source of vitamin C. It also has anti-ageing and antioxidant properties. Application of this face pack of pomegranate and honey results in a glowing beautiful skin

Method

6.    Take a homemade paste of pomegranate and add about a tablespoon of honey to it. Apply this paste on your face and neck and wash it off with rose water after 30 minutes. Use this pack weekly for radiantly glowing skin.

7.    Tulsi kills microbes

All the good mood and happiness gets vanished when you take a look at the mirror and see an ugly red pimple on your cheek or forehead staring right back at you. Mint and Tulsi both are antimicrobial plants which have been proving their worth in providing relief in acne prone skin since ages.

Method
Crush some tulsi and mint leaves. Your homemade face pack for pimple is ready. Apply the paste over the pimples. Leave it overnight. It will minimize the redness and swelling. And wash it away with fresh water.

8.    Clove
Clove is a very common type of spices that are extensively used in Ayurvedic medicine in a lot of medicinal soaps and pimple creams/gels to reduce the redness, swelling of a pimple and to reduce the bacterial infection. And so, a clove face pack for pimples is wonderful and shows relief worthy results in pimples overnight.

Method:
Make a paste of clove with water and apply on the pimples. Leave it overnight for best results.

9.    Sugar and spice for everything nice

This is a simple and very easy scrub for healthy, pimple-marks free and glowing skin. It will work as an exfoliating agent. Moreover it would help you to achieve a brighter skin tone.

Method
Take about three table spoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk powder and one tablespoon of honey, and mix them together now scrub this mixture over the face for few minutes and rinse it off after 15 minutes.

10. Sour grapes for UV rays

This sweet, delicious and jelly-like fruit is packed with potent antioxidants that protects the skin from free radical damage, harmful UV rays, help stimulate collagen and elastin tissue and imparts a fairer complexion. This can be applied in both in oily skin as well as in normal skin.

Method
Take 2 tbsp of fresh grape juice, mix 1 tbsp of lemon juice and 1 tbsp of wheat flour. Apply and then wash off after it dries completely. Remove the pack in an upward direction using a wet cotton pad and then rinse off with cool water. This face pack help tightens skin pores, stimulates skin renewal and gives a sparkling white skin.

For dry and sensitive skin
Mash 3 to 4 grapes; add 1 tbsp of Aloevera gel extracted from the plant which is easily available and 1 tbsp of wheat flour. Apply this paste on the face and neck. Wash it off after 15 minutes. This face pack restores skin moisture, smoothes away fine lines and delivers a perfectly brighter skin tone.
