New Delhi : The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rejected as “outrageous” and “completely false” allegations of mishandling of a 2021 case. In this investigation, WADA accused 20 top Chinese swimmers of using performance-enhancing drugs and tested positive.
Despite this, Chinese swimmers took part in the swimming competition of the Tokyo Olympics that year. This statement of WADA came at a time when US Anti-Doping Agency Chief Travis Tigert had accused WADA and Chinese officials of suppressing these positive tests.
According to news channel CNN, Tigert also alleged that the agency has failed to make effective rules against the use of drugs in sports.
