Russia is going to increase its army once again. President Putin has ordered to increase the number of soldiers. According to the order, 1.80 lakh soldiers will be recruited in the Russian army. This will increase the total number of military personnel in the Russian Army to about 23.8 lakh. The number of active soldiers in this will be 15 lakh.

New recruitment will take place in December. At present, China, India and America are ahead of Russia in terms of active soldiers. After the new recruitment, it will come second in terms of active military personnel. According to the International Institute of Strategic Studies, China has about 20 lakh active military personnel. At the same time, India has about 14 lakh active and America has 13 lakh active military personnel.

This is the third time since the start of the Ukraine war in February 2022, Putin has increased the size of the army. Putin had ordered an increase of 1.37 lakh soldiers in August 2022. With this, the total number of soldiers in the Russian army had increased to more than 20 lakhs. There were 11.5 lakh active soldiers in it. After this, 1.70 lakh more soldiers were added to the Russian army in December 2022.

According to the report, Putin’s order to increase the number of soldiers is also important because last month the Ukrainian army entered the Kursk region of Russia. Ukraine had occupied about 1,175 square km of Russia.

This was the first time since the Second World War that Russia lost so much land. However, now Russia has intensified its efforts to regain its land. According to reports, last week there were clashes between Russian and Ukrainian forces in several areas of Kursk. Meanwhile, Russia has intensified its efforts to capture the important Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk in the eastern Donbass region. ( PLC & GT )
